A huge festival of the arts set in Edinburgh annually. The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is on a similar level to the Calgary Stampede, filled with stages for acts, plays, comedy and much more. The Charity Deaf Action wished to allow for more accessible acts a place to organise and find their audience, and so began the Edinburgh Deaf Festival.
First of the website was envisioned by the talented Designers at Denvir Marketing. Creating a new brand that fits with the Edinburgh Fringe creativity and simplicity. As lead developer, I had to create a new event system that would allow users to find shows they wish to see that fit with their accessibility needs, including fetching data from the Official Fringe Festival.
It was a tough challenge and on a tough deadline, but we pulled it off, and created something that has now been updated annually with the new shows and systems in place. And has been lauded as a great help to those in need.
